Programming women composers

Last week the New York Philharmonic announced their 2011-12 season. There were some surprises -- Stockhausen's Gruppen -- was one of them, but as the New Music Box's Alexandra Gardner pointed out, not one women composer was to be found. Same was true of the Los Angeles Philharmonic's offerings for the upcoming season.
