Lucy Chen
Lucy Chen (age 17) is a composer, violinist, and pianist from Potomac, Maryland. She has studied composition with Wang Lu and Yiming Wu, and music theory with Wang Meng. Her works have been recognized in the Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, BMI Student Composer Awards, National Young Composer Challenge, and more. In May 2022, Lucy premiered two original compositions with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras (MCYO) as a part of their 75th Anniversary celebration. Lucy is the assistant concertmaster in her school orchestra and an active pianist. She runs the Young Artists Music Society, an organization dedicated to spreading free concerts and music resources.
