Mtztli-tliltic

Metztliis the lunar deity from the Mexica tradition. The work is divided in cycles that integrate temporal phrases of 13 and 52 units, additionally ideas, gestures and motives incorporate the number 20. This idea was taken from the Mayan calendar. All this is reflected in the micro and macro structural level. The names of the movements are taken from the Mayan numeric system. The work is dedicated to Armando Luna, an important and fundamental figure of composition in the recent history of music in Mexico.
