Light and Flame

To my imagination, the piece explores sonic quality of sparkle gesture and transparent texture which portrays the picture of "Light and Flame". The music is developed by different musical particles to create the texture, harmony and melody. The main musical particles include glissandi gesture, tremoli chords, pizzicati rumbling sound and very fast scalar melodic motion. The piece has four sections, the first section portrays image of ‘speed' with using of fast and furious gestures and meteoric glissandi and tremoli. The second section is calm and mysterious. The main melodies are blooming by the waves of strings’s pizzicati and the rain of pitched percussions. Third section is the most heavy one. The combination of percussions and strings create the the homophonic melody in order to reach the climax. With the powerful brass sound at the end of third section, the sound gradually changes and fades to atmospheric texture in the fourth section with the noisy strings textures. At the end, the group of chord in high register on violin creates very fragile and light sound, conceptually, all the previous music and events are turning back into the smallest particle with transparent texture.
