For over 40 years, ACO has been the launching pad and musical home for some of the world’s greatest American composers including Philip Glass, Jennifer Higdon, Missy Mazzoli, Tania Leon, Joan Tower, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich and Hannibal. Our orchestra has performed over 800 composers’ work including 3 Pulitzer Prize-winning pieces LINK and over 350 world premieres. We help composers of all levels, genres and backgrounds share a new musical point-of-view and open pathways to new orchestral sounds.
