A decade into this new millennium of ours, the soundscape of the new century is being written and re-written by a new generation of composers. All the music is new, as in 21st century new, written by composers age 40 and under. Composer Portraits All Composer Portraits produced by Jeremy Robins. Jeremy Robins is a filmmaker and educator in Brooklyn focusing on issues of contemporary music and criminal justice. He has produced projects for MTV and PBS, and his documentary on Haitian roots music “The Other Side of the Water” has been screened at Brooklyn Academy of Music as well as festivals around the world, and is being released in 2010. His current projects include creating videos for Carnegie Hall and the New York State Department of Corrections, and a Ford Foundation project creating a youth-produced documentary with children of incarcerated parents.
